Psalms 51

11 Do not cast me from your presence or take your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore to me the joy of your salvation and grant me a willing spirit, to

sustain me.

Pr 28:13 He who conceals his sins does not prosper, but

whoever confesses and renounces them finds mercy.

God will never be able to heal us and make us new creations – until He makes us

whole.

John 1:14 The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among

us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the

Father, full of grace and truth.

Being a Spiritual Castaway:

A. Sin Will Distort Our View Of God - 11 Do not cast me from your

presence

Ps 27:4 - One thing I ask of the LORD, this is what I seek:

that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon

the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.
Ps 42:1-2 - As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul

pants for you, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
Ps 63:1-6 - O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; my

soul thirsts for you, my body longs for you, in a dry and weary land where

there is no water. I have seen you in the sanctuary and beheld your power and

your glory.

B. We Are Made Holy In God’s Presence - Don’t take your Holy Spirit from

me.

We have this feeling that we have to be cleaned up and made holy before we can

enter into God’s presence - in His presence we are made holy.

God doesn’t give us the Holy Spirit because we DESERVE IT but because we NEED

IT.

C. Being a Spiritual Castaway Produces SHAME.

Ezek 28:12-17: …You were the model of perfection, full of

wisdom and perfect in beauty. 13 You
were in Eden, the garden of God; every precious stone adorned you: ruby, topaz

and emerald, chrysolite, onyx and jasper, sapphire, turquoise and beryl. Your

settings and mountings were made of gold; on the day you were created they were

prepared. 14 You were anointed as a guardian cherub, for so I ordained you.

You were on the holy mount of God; you walked among the fiery stones. 15 You

were blameless in your ways from the day you were created till wickedness was

found in you. 16 … and you sinned. So I drove you in disgrace from the

mount of God, and I expelled you, O guardian cherub,

from among the fiery stones. 17 Your heart became proud on account of your

beauty, and you corrupted your wisdom because of your splendor. So I

threw you to the earth;

Is 14:11-15: All your pomp has been brought down to the grave,

along with the noise of your harps … 12 How you have fallen from heaven, O

morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the

earth, you who once laid low the nations! 13 You said in your heart,

“I will ascend to heaven; I will raise my throne above the stars of God; I will

sit enthroned on the mount of assembly, on the utmost heights of the sacred

mountain. 14 I will ascend above the tops of the clouds; I will make myself

like the Most High.” 15 But you are brought down to the

grave, to the depths of the pit.

Rev. 12:10-12 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say: “Now

have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God, and the

authority of his Christ. For the accuser of our brothers, who accuses them

before our God day and night, has been hurled down. 11 They

overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they

did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. 12 Therefore

rejoice, you heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to the earth and the

sea, because the devil has gone down to you! He is filled with

fury, because he knows that his time is short.”

Rev. 20:1-3, 7, 10: And I saw an angel coming down out of

heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2

He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and

bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the

Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving

the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be

set free for a short time … 7 When the thousand years are over, Satan will be

released from his prison 8 and will go out to deceive the nations in the four

corners of the earth … 10 And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown

into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet

had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever

and ever.

You will never become a new creation as an Insecure Person.

Eph. 2:1-8: As for you, you were dead in your transgressions

and sins, 2 in which you used to live when you followed the ways of this world

and of the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in

those who are disobedient. 3 All of us also lived among them at one time,

gratifying the cravings of our sinful nature and following its desires and

thoughts. Like the rest, we were by nature objects of wrath. 4 But because of

his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, 5 made us alive with Christ

even when we were dead in transgressions — it is by grace you have been saved.

6 And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly

realms in Christ Jesus, 7 in order that in the coming ages he might show the

incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ

Jesus. 8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this not

from yourselves, it is the gift of God

We were born with a sinful nature that is comfortable running away from

God.

D. GOD’S Love is Not HUMAN Love

Every love that David ever knew from people ended in REJECTION.

Sin seperates us from God’s Love,
John 17:26 - I have made you known to them, and will continue

to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and

that I myself may be in them."
